Residential Project
Hidden Features in Kensington
Kitchen in Montgomery County
We had been fully prepared for sofas too large for doorways and beds too big for stairwells. That was the story I had written in my head when working on this installation.
Instead, we wrapped two completely different rooms and somehow made them both make perfect sense.
The first floor living room is no longer “open.” We closed it in on purpose.
The clients wanted a true guest room, a cozy reading spot with their long loved hammock, and a home for Nemo and friends. So we reworked the openings, added a ghost door for flexibility, tucked in a sliding Murphy bookcase, and hid a track mounted hammock inside the closet.
Guest room. Book nook. Hidden hammock lounge. Aquarium haven. All in one.
Upstairs, the bedroom got the statement treatment. Wallpaper, paint, furniture that knows it belongs. Bold but grounded.
